Late late show at New Mills denies FC Reserves another win

Monday 19th of March at 7:45 saw FC United reserves play New Mills reserves at Church Lane, New Mills.

With an impressive attendance of 160 both teams were eager to show their metal. A hard fought 45 minutes saw plenty of enthusiasm, but no final product as the teams left the field goalless.

Within three minutes of the re-start Ryan Shaunessy had put FC reserves infront, a lead that was soon increased by Shaun Roscoe’s 62nd minute strike. Reserve League leaders FC United looked to be coasting to another hard fought victory until an 82nd minute strike resulted in an anxious final minutes where FC reserves were undone by a ninetieth minute free kick from the impressive New Mills striker Kelvin Lugsden.

FC United are now three points clear of Padiham with two games in hand, FC reserves are away to Flixton reserves on the 24th of March and away to Darwen reserves on the 31st of March.
