Following the General Meeting held on Thursday 12th April 2018, we are beginning to look ahead to the sale of season tickets for the upcoming season – our fourth in National League North.

‘PAY WHAT YOU CAN AFFORD’ SEASON TICKETS:

At the General Meeting in April, FC United members voted in favour of continuing with our pioneering “Pay what you can afford??? season tickets for next season with a minimum price of £100 for adults, £65 for concessions and £21 for u/18s.

This season we are aiming to have 1,200+ season ticket holders made up of 780 adults, 265 concessions and 155 under 18’s. These numbers are in line with the actual STs sold for the 2017-18 season.

Our “Pay what you can afford??? scheme was introduced for the 2009-10 season, with the hope that those who can afford to do so will choose to pay more thus subsidising those who pay less. As in previous seasons we would greatly appreciate it if supporters who can afford to, add a decent sized donation to the minimum season ticket price to reflect the admission prices of £12 Adults, £7 Concessions and £3 under 18’s.

For the 2018-19 season we are suggesting a donation of £100 in addition to the Adult season ticket price of £100. This total amount of £200 is equivalent of getting 4 matches free if paid on the gate. Likewise for Concessions we ask that you donate an additional £65 to bring the season ticket + donation to £130, equivalent to that of having 2 free games.

Supporters who are able to pay more than the suggested donation are encouraged to do so as every extra pound we raise is invested in the Club and helps us to plan financially for the season ahead. For instance, if you wish to pay the equivalent to the general admission prices, this works out at a £152 donation for adults and £82 donation for concessions.

We understand that some supporters who purchase Season Tickets do so without intending to, or being able to, attend every match, so for those supporters we ask that you donate an amount in line with admission prices of the number of games you think you may watch.

The Club is working hard on ensuring all other areas of the club maximises its profits, but as it stands 60% of the Club’s income is derived from match income, so it’s imperative that we hit our match day targets and the only way we can do that is to maintain our tremendous support, and have a team that is capable of matching all the other semi-professional teams in this league. We have proved last season, that, on our day, we can beat the full-time professional sides, but realistically it’s extremely difficult to compete with these teams over the course of a season.

When the club moved to Broadhurst Park in 2015, we took on a sizeable amount of debt due to the over-spend on getting the work completed. These loans need to be repaid over the course of the next 5 years. But to be able to build up the money to pay off these loans we need to make a sizeable operating profit.

At present we are profitable but we need to increase our revenue in order to pay off these loans which come into place next May. If we don’t make huge strides forward this season, it’s going to hamper us in the long run and if we don’t make the profits needed the only option is to cut costs, and naturally the player budget will be one of the things that will need to be reduced.

Timing for the sales of Season Tickets is important too. It’s imperative we get as much money in as possible before the season kicks off in the first week in August. Therefore we are encouraging all supporters to purchase a Season Ticket throughout May and June.
