Ten man FC United beaten at Kidderminster Harriers

Ten man FC United suffered a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Kidderminster Harriers with all four goals coming in the 2nd half.

It was the Reds who had the first sight on goal when a FC break found Connor McCarthy who saw his shot from the edge of the box saved by Brandon Hall.

From that point, the Harriers were in the ascendency, seeing shots blocked or wide of the goal. On 17 minutes, the dangerous Emmanuael Sanupe was played in, Lloyd Allinson smothering the ball.
Just before the half hour, the ball dropped to Tom Greaves in the box but he couldn’t get it from out of his feet and the chance was lost.

On 54 minutes the deadlock was broken when a cross from the left found skipper Ryan Croasdale at the far post and he tapped the ball into the goal. The lead was almost doubled 4 minutes later when Lee Vaughan fired a shot that Allinson did well to tip over.

On the hour the lead was doubled when Sanupe broke clear and crossed for Joe Ironside to sidefott home.

With 20 minutes to go, the task was made harder when Zac Corbett was given a red card after clashing with James McQuilkin, the home midfielder certainly making the most of minimal contact. Four minutes later, Greaves had a goal chalked out for offside following a shot from McCarthy that was beaten out by Hall.

From that point, the home side took the initiative and it was no surprise when the lead was extended, substitute Andre Wright planting a free header past Allinson. On 79 mins, it was 4-0 thanks to a shot from Elton Ngwatala.

It was clear that the long trips on Saturday and Tuesday had taken their toll on the FC players, this was made even more difficult with the red card.
Hopefully Tom Greaves can rally his troops in time for the derby at Broadhurst Park v Curzon Ashton on Saturday.

Website man of the match- Scott Kay. Stuck to his task well and was his usual consistent self.
