Jerome Wright Joins FC

FC United have completed the signing of Jerome Wright from Maine Road.

After securing the left sided midfielder’s signature at Thursday night’s training session manager Karl Marginson said how much he looked forward to Jerome joining the squad.

’Jerome is a quality player and really caught my eye in the game against us earlier this season,’ said Margy.

’Since the departure of Steve Torpey to Halifax I have felt that the team has lacked the balance of a naturally left sided player.’

’Jerome is a fantastic character, he showed in the game against us at Stalybridge what he can do and I am sure he will prove to be a real asset to the squad.’

Margy was also grateful to Maine Road; ’I want to thank Maine Road for the way that they handled our approach for Jerome. As we have seen ourselves it is not easy when someone comes in for one of your players but they have dealt with Jerome fairly and I would like to thank them for that.’

Jerome was a firm favourite at Maine Road and the decision to leave was a difficult one:

’I have been at Maine Road since I was sixteen and want to thank the club for everything that they have done for me over the last four or five years. I loved playing for them but felt that the chance to join FC United was too good an opportunity to turn down.’

’I had a top time when I met all the FC lads at training this week and I look forward to fighting for my place in the team.’

FC fans will have to be patient and Jerome will have a few weeks of training to get to know the players and try to impress Margy and his staff whilst he serves out a three match ban covering the trip to Flixton and the home games against Ramsbottom and Newcastle.
