FC United of Manchester Press and Communications Activity

Further to the announcement today regarding Andy Walker stepping down from the role of club press and communications officer; the board wishes to update members on this area.

The communications and press activity will be picked up in the short term by a “communications working group??? of volunteers. The group initially will consist of FC United members who have either previously assisted - and/or currently assist - the club with its various communication activities.

In conjunction with the club board and staff, the group will focus on communications priorities while also reviewing the existing club communications strategy and social media. The group will report back to the board and members on progress.

In the meantime, please bear in mind this group of fans has come together at short notice with the aim of helping the club to communicate with members, and would greatly appreciate the understanding and patience of fellow members as the priorities are addressed.

The composition of the group will be reviewed after the election of a new board at the recently announced EGM. It’s expected this group will evolve over time and there will be opportunities for other fans who’d like to take part.

For transparency, none of these fans are in a paid role for their club communications work, apart from Dave Bergin and Ben Hughes who are contracted to the club in relation to their programme/radio roles respectively. In addition, Michael Holdsworth is a paid member of the Community/office staff.
