Fans to ride from Chorley to Broadhurst for Down's syndrome charity

Fans to ride from Chorley to Broadhurst for Down’s syndrome charityA group of Chorley fans are cycling to Broadhurst Park for Saturday’s match against Chorley for charity to support Chorley-based charity Twincess and mark Downs Syndrome Awareness Week, which runs from 20 to 27 March.

Twincess is a small and local charitable trust, set up by Matt and Jodi Parry from Chorley, after their twin daughters Abigail and Isobel were born with Down’s syndrome on June 29, 2011. The trust aims to "See the Ups not the Downs" and raise awareness of and educate the public about the condition whilst offering support to expectant parents or newly diagnosed babies.

Matt Parry said: “Last year, FC United players supported Twincess and Downs Syndrome Awareness Week on their long trip to Stamford wearing odd socks and tweeting pictures. This year the fixtures have been kind in terms of the awareness week and Jodi and I approached Chorley Football Club supporters trust chairman Ryan Modlin to ask what they could do to mark the occasion.

“Chorley FC have been very supportive of Twincess in the past and the idea of cycling between the two grounds was born. Around ten riders are expected to make the 28-mile trip from Victory Park Chorley to Broadhurst Park and they will include representatives from Twincess, CFC Supporters Trust and Andy Daniels, a massive FC United fan, will join the ride too.???
