Three up for the cup

This weekend sees a special milestone in the short history of FC United with the club being represented by three teams competing in three different cup competitions and the good news is @ supporters can see every game and all for just £7.

Whilst the attention is undoubtedly on the first team’s FA Vase Second Round encounter at The Willows against Salford City, the Reserves and the Youth Team are also in action and entry to their games is free of charge.

Kick off times are nicely spread over the weekend, with the first team game starting at 12pm on Saturday, there is enough time after the game to get over to the Abbey Stadium in Gorton to cheer on Tony Cullen’s top of the table Reserves against Flixton Reserves in the First Round of the North West Counties Reserves Division Cup.

Cullen’s kids, so called because they barely have a player over the age of 23, are ten points clear at the top of the division having won 13 of their 15 games so far this season and they will be looking to continue that incredible run of form in their cup debut against local rivals Flixton.

Then on Sunday, Chris Simms’ Youth Team, who are now third in their division, travel to Aigburth near Liverpool to take on HC Kings Park FC in Round Two of the North West Youth Alliance Open Cup, with the kick off at 2pm.

So if getting one FC United fix this weekend just isn’t enough, then make sure you take the opportunity to support the Reds in all three of their cup quests.
