FC United matchday programme - tender advertisement

FC United of Manchester produces a programme for each of its first team home matches. Under the rules of the league, the club must provide a programme for every first team home game, and FC United prides itself on the quality of the programme it has published during its first ten seasons.

The club is now putting out to tender the editorship/production of the programme for the 2015/16 and 2016/17 seasons and is inviting expressions of interest from suitably experienced editors/designers.

Under the contract, the work that the appointed editor/designer will be expected to undertake will include:

- Proposing design concepts, content structure and production schedule for the programme, and agreeing these upfront with the club
- Planning the content for each programme, ensuring the work is done as per the production schedule
- Some writing of content
- Sourcing written material & photographs for each issue
- Managing a team of voluntary contributors including writers and photographers
- Dealing with all administration and emails around the programme production
- Liaising with club officials as necessary for news and features
- Working with the first team manager to ensure his message to the fans is written and ready for each programme
- Updating team statistics
- Ensuring all advertisements are carried as necessary
- Laying out all programme content to the agreed design concept
- Managing the programme through the approval and printing process, ensuring each publication is delivered back to the club in good time for the day of the match.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a proven track record of producing a high-quality programme or other similar publication, on a regular basis to tight deadlines, across a sustained period of time.

They will need to be highly organised with the capacity and flexibility to respond quickly to shifting requirements, and changes to matchday schedules (sometimes at two or three days’ notice).

If you would like to tender for the contract, please email your details to press@fc-utd.co.uk with “Programme Tender” in the subject field. A brief will then be sent to you and you will have the opportunity to tender for the work.

All requests for the brief must be received by 2pm on Friday 4 September 2015. The brief will be emailed to interested parties that evening.

The deadline to submit a tender will then be 5pm on Monday 14 September 2015 with the contract awarded by 21 September 2015. The contractor will need to be available to begin working with the club straight away.
