FC United visit Radcliffe Borough FC for final pre-season friendly

FC United round off a packed pre-season friendly programme with an away match at Radcliffe Borough on Tuesday 4 August. The match will be played at Stainton Park, Pilkington Road, Radcliffe, M26 3PE, with a 7.45pm kick-off.

FC has many links to Radcliffe Borough FC, the club that on more than one occasion has acted as our landlords. Our very own Nick Culkin played 100 times for them, with FC’s first-team coach Dave Brown also playing for the Blues in the year they were promoted to the Northern Premier League. Karl Marginson also spent time with Borough before joining FC, as did former fans’ favourite Simon Carden.

FC United general manager Andy Walsh said: “Radcliffe Borough have been a great help to FC United over the past decade and we hope that as many FC supporters as possible will make the short trip across town to ensure a good turnout at Stainton Park on Tuesday night. Before the match, we plan to present Radcliffe Borough FC with a special memento in recognition and thanks for ten years of friendship and support.”

The match also offers supporters a final chance to cast an eye over FC United’s side for the new season as manager Karl Marginson looks to put the finishing touches to his squad.

Get yourself to that football ground!
