Howard out, but Ashton is back

Josh Howard and Liam Coyne are both unavailable for selection against Glossop North End this Saturday due to picking up knocks, but goalkeeper Sam Ashton is back after hobbling out of the action last week against Newcastle Town.

Coyne has damaged ligaments in his ankle and could be out for a few weeks, whilst Howard sustained a badly bruised foot in last week’s last minute victory, although manager Karl Marginson is hopeful he will be fit in time for next week’s derby clash with Maine Road.

Margy says he will continue to name three outfield players on the substitutes’ bench, despite having to put Rory Patterson in goal for the injured Ashton last week. Whilst hoping not to be recognised during his Friday morning rounds in Merseyside, Margy said: "In the FA Vase you get to name five substitutes so it’s worth it, but for a normal match it’s not."??

And Margy says that unless lightening strikes twice Patterson will not be going in goal again and he definitely has no intentions of giving the Irishman a chance to become FC United’s number one. He said: "No, as much as Rory would probably like to start in goal on Saturday because he’s potty, Sam’s been doing very well so he’ll start."??
