Third time lucky - women's team kick off campaign for promotion

This weekend sees the start of the new season for FC’s women in the Greater Manchester Women’s League. After two near misses, Lee Sutton’s team are determined to secure top spot and promotion ... and some Cup silverware is also a high hope.

After a testing series of pre-season matches to clubs at higher levels, the team are looking forward to running out on Sunday against a revamped Heyside team.

It has been agreed with the Greater Manchester Women’s League that the season’s early fixtures will all be played away, and a small number of fixtures may be played at Abraham Moss College prior to the move into Broadhurst Park, where the women’s team will play on the artificial pitch.
