Official Address and a Crowdfunder Record

On the day that we learned that our new official address will be:

FC United of Manchester
Broadhurst Park
310 Lightbowne Road
Moston
Manchester
M40 0FJ

we are extremely pleased to announce that we have smashed through our ambitious £46k fundraising target towards the cost of our function room and kitchen at our new Broadhurst Park ground in Moston, currently under construction.

With an initial 2 month campaign called ‘Kit-It-Out’ and a £26k target, our fans and supporters have shown their unfailing support by sailing through the first £26k target with a month to go. Pledges continued, with a revised target set at a further £20k, to pay for the commercial kitchen, bringing the new total to £46k. Fans have, as ever, risen to the occasion – smashing the target and the total when the scheme closed at 5.28 on Monday 19th May was a stupendous £51,395.

Some comments from supporters of the campaign:
“FC has been an absolute marvel since its formation. A football throw-back we thought lost forever. An inclusive community hub of delight. Fair minded individuals, one member one vote, coming together helping its people & communities. An alternative ’Can-Do’ spirit, distancing itself from over the top commercialisation. Cheers tons FC. This thing of ours. See ya at Moston.???
“This is our club, belongs to you and me. FC United is the best most fan friendly, interactive club in the world and I’m proud to be an FC fan.???

Phil Geraghty, Managing Director of Crowdfunder said:

“It has been an exciting time watching the FC United campaign launch and become so successful. This project is one of our most brilliant examples of how communities can come together to change the future for something they believe in. Crowdfunder has enabled this fantastic group of people to achieve something incredible. It’s not just about the startling amount they fundraised - it’s about the legacy for the community and the proof for grass-roots communities across the UK that together - they can change the world. This is a loud bold statement that Crowdfunder is giving opportunities for people everywhere to come together and bring about sustainable change via the crowd."

Any extra pledges over and above £46k will go towards the club’s Development Fund targets.

FC United General Manager said: ‘Our supporters have shown what can be achieved when fans own their own club. Donations have come from all over the world. Fans across the game have backed the call for supporters to have a voice at every club. Our Community Share scheme is now closing in on £2million. There is still a lot to be done, but the funds raised by ordinary fans demonstrate the power we all have to change football.’
