FCUM Review v Ashton (Bye, bye Bury?)

The final scheduled FCUM Review of the season (play-offs aside) takes a look back on the nine years we have spent at Gigg Lane, Bury. Thanks to some of our contributors, we have a host of memories to leave you dewy-eyed, all accompanied by pictures from our ace photographers old and new. See if your memories match those of our writers...

Despite it not quite being the end of the season, we have a review of the relative campaigns of our Development Squad and women’s teams, thanks to Gareth Moore and Rob Fullen.

PA volunteer Rick Awdas recently went on a recon mission to Rio ahead of this summer’s World Cup and he reports back on the state of football in Brazil, where full stadiums may well be a thing of the past. There are plenty of parallels to be drawn with what has happened to the game in England from the early 1990s onwards.

We have a cracking tale about the 90-year-old Red who was one of Matt Busby and Alex Ferguson’s trusted aides at Old Trafford from the 1950s onwards, before he became a Main Stand regular at FC. His son is also overseeing the building of our new home at Broadhurst Park. Historic Red lines, woven together like hemp... Aww...

Added to all this, we have another ’Kids United’ with a young Red who has grown up at FC United, Meet the Owners with an FC co-owner in China, news, match reports, stats, pictures and four-page away team section.

All for the ridiculously cheap £2.
