FC United gains through Supporters Direct and Co-operative Energy partnership



FC United of Manchester is pleased to be taking part in a funding initiative being run by Supporters Direct and Co-operative Energy, which gives supporters the opportunity to gain donations for the club.

Co-operative Energy has become the official energy partner to Supporters Direct for the next two years, providing funding for the fan-owned movement and pumping money into supporter initiatives across the country.

As part of the agreement, Co-operative Energy will donate £25 to a sports trust of each supporter’s choice if they switch their gas and electricity account to the company. Alternatively, fans can gain half that amount for the club if they sign up to Co-operative Energy for either gas or electricity.

The deal will also see Co-operative Energy supporting Supporters Direct’s core work in with Premier League, Football League and non-league clubs the length of the country, which aims to encourage sustainability and supporter involvement in the game.

Commercial Manager at Supporters Direct, Mark Bullock said: “I am delighted to welcome Co-operative Energy as the official energy partner to Supporters Direct. Their involvement is representative of our shared cooperative values and celebrates the success of the supporters trust movement in the UK.

“Their support for our core work is particularly encouraging and the partnership allows Supporters Trusts to generate an important residual income, which will reinforce the organisations’ community benefit.???

Co-operative Energy General Manager, Ramsay Dunning added: “We are looking forward to building a successful relationship with Supporters Direct over the next two seasons.
