Programme at the double...

We are very confident there will be a programme for you to buy at the play-off semi final match on Tuesday night... Not only that, there will be two...

Joking aside, our printers have worked around the clock during a bank holiday weekend to get the programme for tonight done and we would like to thank them for that and the excellent service they have provided over the years.

To make up for their error on Saturday, when they accidentally printed the wrong programme (see story, click here), they have also printed the Frickley Athletic issue, which will be on sale at our programme stall tonight. Sorry to our fans who missed out on Saturday, we are working with the printers to ensure it doesn’t happen again. For the content see this previous story, click here.

As for tonight’s issue we have an interview with Northwich Guardian sports editor Andrew ’Simmo’ Simpson, where he discusses Witton’s season and runs the rule over FC’s chances of play-off success. Simmo is quite the non-league sage, but he refuses to predict the outcome, such is the equality of the two sides.

We cast our minds back to play-offs past as we look at FC’s mixed fortunes - yes ’mixed’... We may have lost in the last two seasons at the final stage, but who can forget how we were promoted in May 2008?

Dale Haslam, editor of United fans’ website redsaway.com, talks about how football has changed in his time as a fan and we have a page of mugshots for you to devour.

A couple of our Germany-based correspondents provide a thorough guide to our summer opponents SV Babelsberg 03 and Dynamo Dresden and we have the usual match reports, stats, away team including pen pics and news.

All for £2.

Thanks to everyone who has has helped the programme bring a forecast of £5,000 profit to the club this season, especially the contributors, our ace sellers, technical pdf supremo John Manning and, of course, you the readers. We pride ourselves on producing the best publication we can and not just fulfilling league rules stipulating that we have to do one - so to also help the club financially is a lovely bonus for everyone. Well done all.
