FC United have recently formed a partnership with Street Soccer Academy to launch a weekly Academy session at Abraham Moss High School, starting on Monday May 13th.
Street Soccer Academy is a professional service provider that specialises in the rehabilitation and reintegration of vulnerable and ‘at-risk’ individuals. They work with hard to reach groups such as the homeless, ex-offenders and those who are not in employment, education or training (NEET). They can provide safe, comfortable accommodation for those on the programme who need it and offer support to help people beat addictions, overcome problems at home and improve their education and employability skills and helping them to change their view on how they fit into society.
Adam Jones, FC United first team player and the club’s Coach Educator has been instrumental in arranging this partnership and, along with Karl Marginson, he will be leading the FC United sessions which will take place on Mondays from 4.30pm to 6.30pm. We do have two volunteer coaches who have also committed to helping us run the sessions but we are in need of a pool of another four volunteers as well. They can coach but more important is the ability to form relationships and offer advice and support to the participants.
For more information on the project, or to register your interest as a volunteer, please contact Adam Jones on 0161 273 8950 or
