Youth United Day this Saturday - list of activities

This Saturday 20th April 2013, FC United will once again be hosting Youth United Day at Gigg Lane with Youth groups and teams from all over Greater Manchester joining in a day of celebration and fun.

There will be free entry for all under 18s to the home game against Worksop Town, kick off 3.00 pm.

A range of free activities will take place at the ground and a short walk away at Holy Cross College on Manchester Road at starting from 12:30pm. This is one of the main events in our calendar so please make sure you bring along the kids and invite friends and colleagues along for the day with their kids also.

ACTIVITIES ON GIGG LANE FORECOURT:

- A climbing wall with no age or height restrictions
- A clown/circus skills act
- A 5-a-side football tournament in a contained pitch on the car park refereed by Youth Team coach Dave Brown. Teams or individuals can turn up and play individuals will be put into a team, be there by 12:30pm (not for very young children)
- Cue ball crazy (a covered pool table) just put your name down and have a game
- Steel band, they’ll let you have a go and show you how to do it!
- Face painting
- Badge making
- Play your cards right
- Classic cars and scooters mini exhibition
- FCUM TV and Radio roving reporters
- Y Club fitness check up (£1 donation to charity)

AT 2:40PM. THE PARADE OF YOUNG ACHIEVERS WILL TAKE PLACE INSIDE THE GROUND AROUND THE PITCH.

ALSO, a short walk away at Holy Cross College, Manchester Road, the following will be taking place from 12:30pm:

- A graffiti and DJ workshop
- Banner making

We are also pleased to announce that the Nowt2Do? dancers from Fred Longworth High School and Astley St Mary’s High School will be performing at half time. Nowt2Do? Is an award-winning youth project which promotes community links and helps to reduce anti-social behaviour. See their website for more details at www.flhs.org.uk/nowt2do
