Your matchday programme - Candid Giggs

Due to the weather it’s been a while since an FC United programme has hit the streets, so we are all hoping to break the recent habit on Saturday by hosting a game of football.

If we do, you can buy the matchday programme for just £2 (the same price as issue one back in 2005). For your bugs you get a cracking three-page interview with Rhodri Giggs, who was very candid during his chat with Wayne Clark. It makes for fascinating reading.

We also have a piece on how FC United’s community share scheme has gained national interest as other groups and organisations begin to use the model to fund their own projects.

Simon Rowbotham brings us a tale from the Emerald isle as he reveals how fans of Shamrock Rovers managed to save their football club.

Self-confessed programme ’geek’ Tom Stott reviews a recent book that is very close to his heart. He has gone from ’veteran’ in the last programme preview to ’geek’ in this one. We wait to see how he takes that...

We’ve got a lad called Buz in Meet the Owners, a report of the Stafford match (remember that?), including some cracking pictures from our ace photographers, the usual stats and our three-page away team section, which includes the popular pen pics page.

We’ve got as much news in there as possible, but we have had a struggle due to the time lapse since the last programme. Therefore we have created a new section on the fixtures pages to host some of the birthday requests sent to us in January. Due to the postponements we haven’t been able to put them in when requested, so we have done our best to get them in Saturday’s issue. Hope we managed it...

Don’t forget you can send your requests, comments, articles, pictures or views to programme@fc-utd.co.uk

Many thanks comrades, as always.
