The British Library’s UK Web Archive

FC United are delighted to announce that The British Library have started to archive our website in their UK Web Archive. The UK Web Archive was established in 2004 to capture and archive websites from the UK domain, responding to the challenge of a ‘digital black hole’ in the nation’s memory. It contains specially selected websites that represent different aspects of on-line life in the UK. They work closely with leading UK institutions to collect and permanently preserve the UK web, and their full archive can be seen at http://www.webarchive.org.uk/.

On 14 January 2013, the UK Web Archive took their first “snapshot” of our website and this is now live at http://www.webarchive.org.uk/ukwa/target/79921170.

The Wayback Machine

Another web archive website The Wayback Machine has also been archiving our web pages since 2005. Their website can be found here.

FC Web Archive

The first FC United website was created in June 2005 and since those early days the website as grown and grown into a truly global shop window to promote FC United and its founding values. From a regular 2,000 visits per non-match-day and 5,000 visits on match-days to incredible highs of 30,000 visits in one day (5/11/2010) there’s always something new and old to read.

The new FC United Web Archive can be found here, choose a date from the last seven years and the web page will display the ’latest’ news headlines, the ’last’ result, the ’next’ fixture, full news article and a media image from that month.
