Euro away update

Updates on the Euro away trip that was previously announced here

Latest on match details
Dresden have confirmed that the game will kick off at 3pm on Sunday 2 June 2013.
We haven’t got the actual kick off time for the Babelsberg game on Friday 31 May 2013, but they have confirmed it will be an evening game.
Ticket prices have not been finalised yet, but both clubs have indicated the prices will be lower than our normal home game price, probably in the region of £5-6.

Travel
Plans are being made by a couple of FC co-owners living in Germany for chartered train travel between Potsdam, where Babelsberg are based and Dresden. They anticipate good savings on the train fare and are currently asking for feedback on the members forum. If this is arranged it is likely the train would leave Potsdam at about 12 noon on Saturday 1 June 2013. If and when this trip is finalised, further details will be posted.

Further info from Dresden
A fan guide will be put together shortly and will include information on potential joint actvities, meetings and talks, etc. They are also planning a cultural exchange to enable everyone to get to know the other club and its supporters a little better.

The match will be taking place as part of a "fan day" and the Dresden fans will be organising a range of activities and information offerings at the ground.

Dresden have announced the game on their own website and within the story Dynamo-fan and co-organiser Robert Pohl has said:
"Because of the way the club came about and operates FC United and its fans are very popular with football fans around the world. That is why we are happy to invite them to Dresden and it’s an honour to have them as our guests this June."
Dynamo club secretary Christian Müller said: "Our invitation to FC United also sends out the message that the preservation of traditional membership-driven structures in German football is a key concern of Dynamo Dresden."

Further info from Babelsberg
Their website story was posted shortly before our own announcement. They have kindly sent us a translation of the story, which is reasonably clear:

United of Manchester to guest in the stadium “Karli???
The FC Babelsberg 03 is pleased to be able to announce that the FC United of Manchester will be guest in the Karl-Liebknecht-stadium on 31 May 2013.

This friendly match against the English team will also be the closure of a hopefully successful season with a standing in the league at the end. The FC United of Manchester was founded by disappointed fans of Manchester United in the summer of 2005. The reason for the disappointment was the take-over of the English record champion by US businessman Malcolm Glazer. The new foundation of the club was used to take position against the take-over and the commercialisation of football. But the condition of the new foundation was to find at least 1000 people within two month who are willing to afford a financial donation. This ambition was realised faster then expected and so there stood nothing more in the way for the new foundation of the club.

Based on the formation history of the club there was a cult status among fans all over the world from the beginning on. The members and the fans are the most important part of the FC United. The club is owned by every member and it is an organisation based on democratic instead of making profit. The management is elected democratically by the members. Decisions made by the members are based on a principle that stands for "one member one vote" .

Further details of both games will be published nearer the time
