Ademola Bakre gains trial at Sheffield Wednesday

FC United and The Manchester College Football Academy player Ademola Bakre has been invited for trials with Sheffield Wednesday.

Ademola’s invitation to try out with the Championship club is further evidence of the growing success of our partnership with The Manchester College and comes hot on the heels of four FC United Youth Team players being capped for England.

Ademola (17) from Ardwick, is currently studying on the BTEC Level 3 Sports Course at the College and his performances for the FC United College team in the British Colleges Elite League have been noticed by Championship side Sheffield Wednesday, who have invited him in for a one-week trial.

Head of The Manchester College Football Academy, Paul Bright said: “Ademola has been a model student and player since he came to the college and his commitment, dedication and passion for football has resulted in him being scouted and selected for trials with a professional club.???

FC United’s Karl Marginson, who is also Ademola’s coach at The Manchester College, added: “Ademola was selected as the Football Academy Captain due to his hard work and attitude to training and he fully deserves his chance to gain a professional contract in football.

"The fact that Ade has been spotted by a professional club is testament to the partnership between FC United and The Manchester College and the development work of the Football Academy coaching staff with all of the players at the college.???

The new FC United/Manchester College Full Time Football Academy will be holding trials in February, Easter and Summer half term for current Year 11 male and female footballers who are looking to combine their football careers with studying a full time college course in September 2013.
