Women's team play friendly at Irlam tonight

FC United’s women’s team play their latest pre-season friendly this evening against Irlam Ladies FC.

With the season just a week and a half away, the new women’s squad is starting to gel and joint manager John Marsden says he is happy with the way things have gone so far. "Like the first team, we have deliberately arranged some pre-season games against higher league opposition as we think this will prepare us well for what we will face when the league season proper starts on Sunday 2nd September," he said.

"After the Irlam game, we play Crew Alexandra in our last pre-season friendly and then a week later we’ll start our first ever game in the Greater Manchester Women’s Football League Division 1. Everyone is buzzing with anticipation and we can’t wait to get started on what is a historic first competitive season for FC United’s women’s team," said John.

The venue for tonight’s game is Irlam FC, Silver Street Ground, Silver Street, Irlam, Manchester M44 6HR and the kick off time is 7.30pm. Come along if you can to support the newest of FC United’s teams.
