Hednesford 2-1 FC United It was third time unlucky for FC United on Saturday afternoon as the Reds lost the Evo-Stik Premier Division play-off final 2-1 away to Hednesford Town in a closely fought match
United found themselves 2-0 down after a disappointing first half, and despite a good second half fight back the Reds couldn’t find a way through and suffered defeat at the final hurdle for the third season running. FC United Women 0-1 Mcr City FC United’s women’s team lost the Greater Manchester Women’s Football League Cup Final by the narrowest of margins to a 46th minute strike from Manchester City’s Ellen Bergin to bring the curtain down on a fantastic first season despite the result. Trafford friendly and Simon Carden farewell
FC United play Trafford FC in the last pre-season friendly of the summer this evening. The evening will double up as a farewell to ex-FC United player Simon Carden with a presentation after the game. Simon currently holds the title for most appearances at the club with 243 and he scored 67 goals in that time. We have never had the chance to pay tribute to his commitment to FC United unlike many other players, so this evening will allow us to put that right. Manager Karl Marginson said: “In our first few seasons Simon was an important and influential player. We want to show our appreciation for what he did for the club at the start and say thank you." Trafford FC v FC United of Manchester, Tuesday 14th August 2011 Kick Off 7.45pm This game is to be played at Shawe View, Pennybridge Lane, Flixton, Manchester, M41 5DL. This game will be pay on the gate. Admission prices are as follows: Adults £6.00 Junior (12 to 18yrs) and OAP £3.00 Under 12 Free Directions: M60 anti-clockwise exit at Junction 10 (Trafford Centre) and turn right towards Urmston B5214. Straight across two roundabouts. First lights turn right into Moorside Road, at next roundabout take second exit into Bowfell Road. At next lights turn sharp left, then immediately right into Pennybridge Lane next to Bird-in-hand Pub, parking on left 100 yards. OR Leave M60 at Junction 8 taking A6144(M) towards Lymm, Partington and Carrington. At second set of traffic lights turn right on B5158 towards Flixton. Remain on B5158 crossing railway bridge at Flixton Station and turn right at next set of traffic lights, passing Bird-in-Hand Pub. Take immediate right into Pennybridge Lane. Car Park is approximately 100 yards on the left. |
