FC United’s new midfielder Dave Birch is likely to be in the team for tonight’s game against Chadderton. It had been expected that tonight’s team would be an inexperienced FCXI side with mostly youth team players, but manager, Karl Marginson, has one eye on a tough game against Exeter at the weekend, so he said "The team will be a mixture, mostly trialists, but it’s possible that a few of the more experienced players who need to get some match practice will be in the squad, such as Dave Birch." The former Hyde club captain signed for FC United earlier in the summer, but didn’t play at Rhyl last Saturday, so could be making his debut tonight.
Several new players were tried out during that entertaining game at Rhyl and might feature again at Chadderton, including Charlie Anderson, son of former Manchester United player Viv Anderson and Josh Bardsley, brother of former United and current Sunderland player Phil Bardsley.
