FC United will be playing against Cymru Alliance side
Rhyl FC on Saturday 14 July 2012, which completes our list of friendlies. Although this is the last game to be announced, it will be the first friendly played in pre-season. The close season has quickly flown by and it’s only a little over a fortnight until we head to Wales for this first game. We’re very pleased that Rhyl were able to add us into their pre-season programme at such late notice and FC United manager, Karl Marginson, is confident it will be an excellent warm up game.
Rhyl FC have a long and proud history, with many appearances in European competitions, including the Champions League, although their fortunes have fallen a little, resulting in a recent unexpected demotion to the level below the Welsh Premier. However, they are determined to fight their way back to the top of Welsh football and their ground is still used by other Welsh teams playing European competitions.
Rhyl have already confirmed that the game will be a 3pm kick off and they are now finalising the matchday plans. Full details will be announced as soon as possible.
