Register now for Fans Weekend 2012

Want to help change football? The Football Supporters’ Foundation (FSF) has teamed up with Supporters Direct (SD) to bring football fans together for a Fans Weekend on 7th and 8th July and you can register to attend now.

Formal proceedings on Saturday will be followed by two games of football on the Sunday; the SD Shield will be competed for between Fisher and Lewes, while the SD Cup will see Enfield Town take on Wrexham, with both matches being played at Enfield Town’s Queen Elizabeth Stadium. Tickets will be available on the day from Enfield Town FC with prices to be confirmed.

The Saturday will see supporters from across England and Wales come together at the Grand Connaught Rooms in central London to discuss how we can influence the game for the better. The day will be split into two parts:

Daytime (9.30am-6.30pm): A full day of action with a keynote speech from Gabriele Marcotti, FSF and SD AGMs and eight fans’ workshops with guest speakers covering subjects such as the Elite Player Performance Plan, racism in the game, supporter liaison officers, football governance, and the history of football tactics.

Evening (7.30pm doors, 8.30pm kick-off): The FSF’s Football Writers Awards will see the return of our comedy panel and awards show, featuring MOTD2’s Kevin Day, Guardian Football Weekly’s Barry Glendenning, Arsenal legend Perry Groves, and the BBC Football League Show’s Leroy Rosenior. The best of both professional and fan journalism will be honoured, with details on this year’s award categories to be confirmed very shortly.

The events over the weekend are open to anyone, but members of the FSF or SD (or fans’ groups affiliated with either) are entitled to a discount and if not already a member, you can join either or both organisations online.

Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and numbers are limited. FSF members are entitled to attend the FSF AGM free of charge if they wish, simply email your name and member ID to info@fsf.org.uk

The Fans’ Weekend is kindly supported by The Co-operative Group.
