Hednesford 2-1 FC United It was third time unlucky for FC United on Saturday afternoon as the Reds lost the Evo-Stik Premier Division play-off final 2-1 away to Hednesford Town in a closely fought match
United found themselves 2-0 down after a disappointing first half, and despite a good second half fight back the Reds couldn’t find a way through and suffered defeat at the final hurdle for the third season running. FC United Women 0-1 Mcr City FC United’s women’s team lost the Greater Manchester Women’s Football League Cup Final by the narrowest of margins to a 46th minute strike from Manchester City’s Ellen Bergin to bring the curtain down on a fantastic first season despite the result. Manchester Day Parade - this Sunday...
The 3rd Manchester Day Parade takes place this Sunday, 10th June starting at 2.00pm and finishing around 4.30pm. The theme is “The Sky’s The Limit” and for the second year running FC United have been chosen to take part. Our float this year will be a large rocket – “Rocket to Moston” – carried by supporters along with an array of banners and flags to bring a large splash of excitement and colour to our section of the Parade. We’ll also have child dancers, representatives from Moston Juniors and a giant footballer decked out in FC first team kit bringing up the rear. Many supporters have already volunteered to come along on the day to join in with us but we still have room for more if you would like to help out by carrying a flag, a banner or simply marching along and singing FC songs. It was agreed by almost every FC fan who took part last year that it was a fantastic occasion and a proud day to represent the Club. Up to 75,000 spectators are expected to be lining the streets. Every volunteer is asked to wear a red top (FC 1st team shirt if possible – any version) and black bottoms. We will meet up on Liverpool Road just up from the Science Museum between 12.30 pm. and 1.00 pm. The top of Liverpool Road meets Deansgate opposite the Hilton Hotel. The Parade route starts at the junction of Liverpool Road and Deansgate, going down past Kendals, right at St Mary’s Gate to the bottom of Market Street, right at Cross Street, past the Town Hall, right at Peter Street and then left back along Deansgate to the finish.
