Hednesford 2-1 FC United It was third time unlucky for FC United on Saturday afternoon as the Reds lost the Evo-Stik Premier Division play-off final 2-1 away to Hednesford Town in a closely fought match
United found themselves 2-0 down after a disappointing first half, and despite a good second half fight back the Reds couldn’t find a way through and suffered defeat at the final hurdle for the third season running. FC United Women 0-1 Mcr City FC United’s women’s team lost the Greater Manchester Women’s Football League Cup Final by the narrowest of margins to a 46th minute strike from Manchester City’s Ellen Bergin to bring the curtain down on a fantastic first season despite the result. Ludovic Quistin
Popular, former FC United player Ludo Quistin has been tragically killed in a motorbike accident near his home in Les Abymes. A friend of Ludo’s contacted the FC United office earlier this week to inform us of the news. A story on the Guadeloupe website Domactu reads as follows: ’The 28 year old Gwada Boy died this morning in a road accident near Bouliqui, at the Abymes. Ludovic Quistin (Ludo) was back in Guadeloupe after living in England where he played most of his football career. This sad news was a big shock in the Guadeloupe sporting world and particularly that of football. Ludovic Quistin, aged 28, didn’t survive a motor bike accident, this morning in Bouliqui, at the Abymes. The exact circumstances of the accident are still to be confirmed, but it seems that a group of motorcyclists were out together for a ride and that two of them collided, went out off the road and into a gully. Both men were taken to the Pointe-a-Pitre/Abymes hospital. One of the casualties was slightly injured, the second was initially treated at the scene, but later died from his injuries. Ludovic Quistin had been selected to play for Guadeloupe several times. In 2007, during an American competition, he was part of the Gwada Boys team which played in the semi final, against a Mexican team (1-0). We will remember Ludovic Quistin, also a father, as a young man full of life and always happy, and who had his whole life ahead of him.’ Ludo was a fantastic young man and the thoughts of everyone at FC are with his family and those nearest to him. |
