Hednesford 2-1 FC United It was third time unlucky for FC United on Saturday afternoon as the Reds lost the Evo-Stik Premier Division play-off final 2-1 away to Hednesford Town in a closely fought match
United found themselves 2-0 down after a disappointing first half, and despite a good second half fight back the Reds couldn’t find a way through and suffered defeat at the final hurdle for the third season running. FC United Women 0-1 Mcr City FC United’s women’s team lost the Greater Manchester Women’s Football League Cup Final by the narrowest of margins to a 46th minute strike from Manchester City’s Ellen Bergin to bring the curtain down on a fantastic first season despite the result. End-of-season party - UPDATED
Don’t forget that the season’s not totally over until we’ve had our end-of-season party, so a reminder to drop whatever you’re doing this Friday, 11th May, and make a date for FC United’s end-of-season celebration party at the Chorlton Irish Club. Despite the disappointment of Sunday’s game, it’s still been an historic year for FC, with the announcement of the site of our new ground and the fantastic achievement of raising £1.6m in community shares to help pay for it. We’ve had a great year and there is much to celebrate, so let’s get together on Friday and do just that. Our end-of-season bash is always a great evening, with the players, management and staff in attendance and various awards for players being handed out, including all the branch awards too. We’ll have a cracking buffet, a top-notch disco and a few other surprises too to make for a brilliant night out. At just £10 each, tickets for the event are sure to sell out, so make sure you get your order in now by calling the office on 0161 273 8950 or email office@fc-utd.co.uk. If you are initending to go but have not yet bought a ticket, you can ’pay on the gate’ but please let the office know as we need to make arrangements for the food order.
