Hednesford 2-1 FC United It was third time unlucky for FC United on Saturday afternoon as the Reds lost the Evo-Stik Premier Division play-off final 2-1 away to Hednesford Town in a closely fought match
United found themselves 2-0 down after a disappointing first half, and despite a good second half fight back the Reds couldn’t find a way through and suffered defeat at the final hurdle for the third season running. FC United Women 0-1 Mcr City FC United’s women’s team lost the Greater Manchester Women’s Football League Cup Final by the narrowest of margins to a 46th minute strike from Manchester City’s Ellen Bergin to bring the curtain down on a fantastic first season despite the result. Pre-season friendlies at Radcliffe and Chadderton
Two friendlies have been finalised so far for this summer’s pre-season, with more to follow of course. Radcliffe Borough v FC United and Funday Saturday 11 August 2012 Our old friends at Radcliffe have invited us to play them on the final Saturday before the 2012-13 league season begins and they are planning to make it a Funday with lots of events going on before the actual game. Chadderton v FC United XI Thursday 19 July 2012 Near the beginning of pre-season, we’ve arranged a game at Chadderton against an FC United XI, which will be a tough game to test our youngsters and triallists. This will be an opportunity to play at one of the grounds we missed in the North West Counties Football League. Those with long memories may recall we wondered whether Chadderton really existed, because the games against them got postponed so many times in the first season. Now we’ve got a chance to go there and find out. Further details of both these games will be announced nearer the time. |
