Welcome to what we hope will become a bi-monthly blog update about the FC United website. The web team is currently Voxra Andersen and Mike Tomlinson. We’ll kick off with some stats.

Stats for January 2012

January 2012

According to Google Analytics there were 90,880 visits to the FC United website in January, 37,582 unique visits (that’s different people or from different PCs or other Internet enabled devices).

The graph above shows that there were around 3,000 visitors to the website per day with peaks reaching 6,000 on match days.

These visitors viewed 296,020 pages, on average they viewed 3.25 pages and stayed on the website for 2 minutes 45 seconds.

Stats for February 2012

There were 81,681 visits to the FC United website in February, 35,613 unique visits. Slightly down on the previous month but February is a short month and the bad weather meant that there were no first team games played in the first half of the month.

February 2012

The graph above shows that there were again around 3,000 visitors to the website per day with peaks reaching 4,000 on match days.

These visitors viewed 248,744 pages, on average they viewed 3.05 pages and stayed on the website for 2 minutes 33 seconds.

Web site developments

Over the last two months we have introduced a search facility on the News archive page which searches for key works in the news story headlines, so if you wanted to find all the news stories about Margy then just type ’Margy’ in the search field and click submit.

We have also developed a co-owners’ only away shirt vote page for seasons 2012/14. This vote closes on Tuesday 6th March and results will be known shortly after this date.

We have had a few security issues which have been identified and dealt with promptly; at no stage were co-owners’ personal details at risk and the web team will endeavour to make the co-owners’ area of our website as secure as possible.

A series of graphics as also been produced to show us how close we are getting to raising the £1.6M in community shares and therefore closer and closer to our own ground.

In the pipeline

We are currently developing a Roles and Responsibilities web page where fans will be able to direct specific questions to board members responsible for various strategic areas of the club.

Also in the pipeline is a co-owners’ discussion group and on the drawing board is a new style main website for next season and a new shop website is in development too.

The web team is always looking for new volunteers especially in the area of graphic design, you don’t have to be a ’bit pusher’ or technical wiz kid as we have a pretty good admin portal that is very user friendly. If you are a co-owner; can access the Internet on a regular basis throughout the day and would like to know more, drop the web team an email at webadmin@fcunited.org
