CYCM: Triple vision

If you prefer your match-day run by match-going fans for match-going fans, then get yourself down to Course You Can Malcolm before this Saturday’s 3pm kick off against Chester.

You’ll be amongst red friends in Malcolmses. Live entertainment is provided by Black Star Dub Collective and The Autonomads, both highly-rated bands out of TNS Records, a not-for-profit, Manchester music collective.

We think you’ll like them. You can have a listen to what they’re about if you follow these links;

Moston’s MAD Theatre company will also be putting on a special performance of their new production, The Demise and Rise of Bunny Lamar. For information on the play, as well as Friday night’s launch in the Moston Miners Club, follow this link;

Deftly shifting gears between punk culture, high culture and horticulture, Twomowers will again provide his usual well-researched insights into the private musings of the FC starting line-up. We don’t know how he does it, they must just open up to him, like Nixon with Frost.

If you’re unlucky, and he’s up to it, Margy might even show him how it’s not done with another joke from a Londis cracker. A small delegation of Manchester-based Brighton fans will also be taking shelter with us and saying FCUM to Sky, after their game was moved to Saturday tea time. They’ll be selling copies of their excellent fanzine The Steven Seagull Love Review, with all proceeds being donated to help us get our ground. They know what it’s like to wait.

The usual quality bottled beer will be lined up and served by the Three Tenas, who will also have a special treat for cider fans. Perhaps the most exciting thing to come out of Hereford since the Phantom Whistler, we have 8% Triple-Vision cider, hand-picked and hand made by an FC fan with CYCM taste buds in mind. Weighing in at 750ml a bottle, these bottles can also be drunk as a tribute to the founder of apples who we’re told tragically passed last week. We may hold a minute’s silence, probably just after Margy’s joke.

The ever popular Westwell’s tater ash will be arriving at 1pm, give or take 20 minutes depending on the food-fetcher’s clock, along with pies, veggie hot dogs and lovingly home-made pizza in Carrot Corner, plus tea, coffee, hot chocolate and the delightful yet elusive wimberry charlottes in Tea Earn... All available while you enjoy the independently-organised entertainment in the company of other independently-minded reds.

Free entry of course, members can sign one guest in, and membership forms are available at the door. All money spent inside will help us get to that Mancunian football ground.

A well-meaning Liverpudlian once sang "above us only sky"...a few thousand Mancunians have since said ’nah, not us’..., then sang summat similar... well, if you leave the jester hats outside, we’ll take care of the rest. Same goes for Football Focus, before you ask.

Doors open 12 noon...
