Presentation evening round-up

The end of season presentation evening was another successful night for the club on Friday – thank-you to all the supporters who were able to attend.

Mike Norton won supporters’ player of the season, Scott McManus was voted players’ player of the season and Lee Neville was awarded the manager’s player of the season.

Norton also collected awards from FCUth (Junior members), the Unofficial Forum, the Leigh & District Branch, and the Southern Branch.

Goalkeeper Sam Ashton, who was a VIP at this weekend’s FA Cup Final for being voted player of the second round, was elected player of the year by both the Newton Heath Branch and the Trafford Branch, Ben Deegan was the choice of the Stockport Branch and David Chadwick was the favourite on Tameside.

The Board also presented special recognition awards to the club’s commercial manager, Mike Burtonwood and our Community & Education Manager, Robin Pye for their tireless efforts over the years.

The evening, which took place at Barton Sports & Social Club in Eccles, also saw an auction of Manchester United and FC United memorabilia – raising £3,000 for our club.
