Youth United Day - why you should be there

Youth United Day is this Saturday, 26th March at our home game with North Ferriby United. The poster for this match is available here

If you’re under 18, or have youngsters in the family, the reasons for attending are probably straightforward. There are loads of events on for young people (see below for the full list) and everything’s free.

However, for those of us who are too old for the giant snakes and ladders, or the face painting, this is still an important fixture to attend.

Of course there’s the 3 points against a team who are also vying for promotion.

But the other reason for making the effort to make this game is the importance of the day in our community calendar. Most supporters will agree that the buzz around Gigg Lane on Youth United Day in previous years has been something special. Supporters from Chester FC were so impressed when they attended last year that more than one of them said they intended to try and reproduce the event at the Deva Stadium and they were still talking about it at the friendly we played in the summer.

Youth United Day will be extra special for the visiting youth groups if we can give them the best experience possible. Let’s show everyone who attends what FC United and supporter-run football is all about. Get to Gigg Lane on Saturday if you can. It’s our club, let’s celebrate it.

So what’s on?

At Gigg Lane:

At Holy Cross college:

Oh, and 90 minutes of football…
