This Week’s News

Good day to you all and welcome to this week’s FCUM Radio Newsletter.

This past week has been a very hectic week for everyone at FCUM Radio Towers, with many highlights enjoyed along the way. Certainly leaving the FA Cup with a 4-0 defeat is not the ideal but our congratulations must still go out to everyone at the club for this year’s cup campaign. From the players to the programme sellers, this season’s cup run has been an incredible joy and it has been our pleasure to cover it all here on FCUM Radio.

To celebrate this season’s cup run, on Wednesday night FCUM Radio will be replaying the cup night to end all cup nights with FC’s victory over Rochdale from Spotland, a beautiful evening if ever there was one.

Yesterday was another splendid day as FCUM Radio and The FCUth had another Sunday together making quality radio down at the FC Offices, including the recording of the first ever FCUM Radio Christmas Nativity. Working alongside the FCUth is an important aspect in being the station for FC United of Manchester, and everyone involved with the making of The Children Of The Revolution programme really are taken a back every time by the enthusiasm and dedication that can be found within the younger ranks of our club. The future is in good hands, of that there is little doubt.

Finally, on Saturday a contingent from FCUM Radio made their way down to Gullivers on Oldham Street to celebrate and record the FC fundraiser Celebrating 30 Years of Sandinista. Our congratulations must go to the organisers, namely Strummercamp and Vinny, the acts and the club as a whole for putting on such a wonderfully vibrant evening of punk and poetry. As a great man once said, “behind the windows of Manchester, there is an insane love of football, of celebration and of music???, and on nights like Saturday, FC United helped to continue such Mancunian traditions.

This is FCUM Radio, Radio for FC United of Manchester.
