Little Coat Day

After the success of last seasons Big Coat Day, the club have teamed up with two local charities this time for Little Coat Day, which will take place at our home game on Saturday 16th October.

The aim of Big Coat Day was to ask supporters to make donations of coats and warm Winter clothing which would then be distributed by charities dealing with the homeless (there will be another Big Coat Day later this season). With Little Coat Day we are asking our supporters to bring along any good quality coats and clothing suitable for children.

Any donated items will then be distributed by two local charities, Wood Street Mission (a children’s charity which has been helping local children and families in need in the Manchester and Salford area since 1869) and The Mustard Tree (which may already be familiar to supporters as they were one of the recipients of donations from last seasons Big Coat Day).

So on the 16th October both organisations will have vehicles outside Gigg Lane collecting donations from 12.00 pm until kick off. We would ask supporters to ensure that any donations are of good quality, as neither organisation has the resources to launder or repair items before they are distributed. Hopefully Little Coat Day will be as successful as last seasons Big Coat Day, and demonstrate once again that FC United not only cares about what happens on the pitch but off it as well.
