Essentially, if you can’t fly to Leipzig, the next best trick is fly to Berlin and get a train South. This is remarkably easy whether arriving at Berlin Schonefeld or Tegel. Info available on the following website:
Berlin Airport also see trains
N.B. Berlin Schonefeld is being re-branded Berlin Brandenburg, don’t get confused.
If you are travelling to Leipzig over land, we would recommend that you book your train tickets in advance on the website, because it is a lot cheaper and a lot easier. Just print your ticket and travel itinerary off on your own printer. PLEASE NOTE. You must have your credit/debit card that you bought your travel tickets with you for inspection on the train.
