We???re on the Minithon with Margy???s Army???.!!!

The Marvellous FA Cup win is a great excuse to turn Sunday’s Minithon into a victory celebration with fans and players alike amassing on Chorlton Green. It’s probably too early for an open top bus, but you can walk, jog or race with the players beside the Mersey and send out a message to the Victorians that FC mean business - and fun.

Looking for Eric star Steve Evets will set everyone off with tales of his training with The King. TV comedian James Quinn, MAD Theatre and band Fiery Jack, will entertain us at the afterrun do, guaranteeing a good party atmosphere and a family affair.

This year a special family competition has been added. The signposts signalling the route of the course will each carry a letter that goes to make up the name of one ex-Manchester United hero and then one current FC player. Any correct entries will put into a hat and the winner drawn by James Quinn. Add prizes for fancy dress, best headgear and fastest pet and owner and all the family can have fun.

Registration is from 11.20am with the first wave of entrants setting off at noon, quickly followed by the joggers then the crawlers. Anyone who has not yet paid their £10 (under 18s: £5) registration fee can do so at the registration desk on the day. Most of all you can help us raise funds by establishing a justgiving page and downloading a sponsorship form (scroll down to the bottom).

Two Months in Gestation - £9,000 already raised - Now One Big Long Pushhhhhhhh!

If you can’t be there on the day you can still help out by collecting sponsors for your mates and the players.

Stroll Of Honour Sponsorship Stakes

The race is heating up behind Young Michael Burtonwood (£355) who remains in the lead in the Stroll Of Honour Sponsorship Stakes. Tony Tarpey (£275) shot into second place, only for Steven Wood (£279) to overtake him and Morris Minor, Callum (£275) and David French (£268) to get onto his shoulders. The chasing group behind them have bunched up behind Faz’s dog Simba (£180) who now has Pete Crowther (£175), Mark Birtwistle (£165)and John Manning (£165) uncomfortably on his tail.

There’s still time for you to join or back the 150 runners and riders. Get on the Stroll of Honour or download sponsorship forms to help your mates at http://www.fc-utd.co.uk/news-story/see-how-they-ran-photos-and-tv-footage
