Squad Update - September 09

With the season now well underway, many supporters may have noticed the absence of a few registered squad members from first team action.

We’re pleased to say that many of these absences are expected to be only temporary. Former youth team player Nick Swirad is undertaking a month-long loan period at UniBond North side Clitheroe in order to increase experience. Shaun Williams, who also made the step-up from the youth team this season, is expected to partake in a similar deal. Manager Karl Marginson said: "We are currently in talks with a couple of clubs at North West Counties and UniBond level to arrange a ’loan’ deal at club where Shaun can gain experience."

The club is also in the process of discussing a similar arrangement for Danny Stott. There is a possibility of the midfielder spending a period of time at a North West Counties side, in order to gain match fitness.

Abdirashid Ibrahim is now available for selection after gaining international clearance and will be involved in training. Abdi may also spend time with another club to obtain regular football and match fitness.

John Buckley, who made his way through the youth side, has started the season at Daisy Hill, and Raducio King is currently acquiring fitness and experience at Trafford. As announced on the website last week, Carl Lomax is regaining his fitness at North West Counties side Ramsbottom United but FC United are retaining his UniBond registration.
