Youth slip at Prescot

In a disappointing game the FC United youth team suffered a similar fate to that of the first team when playing Prescot Cables away from home. Defensive lapses on the hour mark saw Prescot head home unopposed for the only goal of a lacklustre game.

In truth Prescot did little else to threaten the FC goal throughout the game, sadly the reds also had an off day with quality chances noticeable by their absence.

Half chances came on the rare occasions that the ball was played wide, and the ball was crossed into the box. Unfortunately Cables keeper Craig McDonoghue was rarely troubled as a result.

Suitably chastened after the match, the lads have a perfect opportunity to get their title hopes back on track at Lancaster next Sunday. Kick off 2:30 at Giant Axe.
