United end pre-season in style

FC United cruised to a three goal victory with no reply against Nantwich Town on Friday night with goals from Kyle Wilson and Rhys Hardie.

Wilson broke the deadlock for the Reds shortly after the five minute mark. The former Crewe forward cleverly found time and space on the edge of the box to work an opening and fire the ball home with aplomb, making it 1-0.

It stayed that way until just after the interval when more United pressure saw an unfortunate Dabbers defender, Mark Beeston headed past his own keeper.

Youngster Hardie came off the bench score his second in as many appearances for the club, putting the icing on the cake with a cool finish.

After a tough pre-season campaign, the result against one of their UniBond Premier rivals means United will go into next week’s opening match of the season full of confidence.
