Urbis Exhibition

Urbis are staging an exhibition on Manchester Central FC which runs until August 3rd.

Manchester Central were formed by City fans in East Manchester in 1928 following City’s move to Maine Road. The team attracted large crowds and home games were played at Belle Vue. The history of Manchester Central has been chronicled in a book by author Gary James in which he describes how combined action from United and City stopped Central from joining the Football League in 1931.

Inevitably comparisons have been drawn with the establishment of FC United, Gary James will be talking about the rise of Manchester Central tonight at Urbis where he will be joined by FC United General Manager Andy Walsh.
