Success at the Shirt Club

Despite the result in the Manchester Premier Cup last Tuesday night, FC United fans had something to smile about as supporters piled into the Shirt Club in Radcliffe before the game and help to raise £70 for the Development Fund.

The Shirt Club has offered to give 10% of the bar’s profits as well as all profits on sandwiches to the Development Fund whenever the Reds play at Stainton Park and the first evening has been hailed a success.

Supporters enjoyed probably the cheapest drinks in Radcliffe as well as the review of our first season on the large projector screen and two lucky people got to go home with a bit of extra cash in their pockets after winning the football cards. The general banter and enjoyment from the FC fans even prompted one of the locals - a Liverpool fan, who shall remain anonymous for his own safety - to get involved and he went down to watch the game.

Organiser of the evening, Shirt Club and FC United member, Gary Peace said: "I really enjoyed myself and I think the rest of the lads and lasses who turned up did as well. It was great to see so many of our fans in the club and I hope we can build on this for the future and make it a long term relationship for however long we continue to play games at Stainton Park."??

The Shirt Club, which itself is run on a volunteer basis with staff working for free, have asked us to thank everyone who helped out on the night and of course those of you who turned up to support the event by ploughing your way through food and drink in true FC United style.

Peace added: "We’re looking forward to the next game at Stainton Park (Tuesday 15 April) when hopefully we can finally get a win against our ’bogey side’, enjoy another good session in the Shirt Club and raise even more money for the Development Fund."??
