Watch FC for free next season, an appeal to the 200!

Keep reading past all the yee-hah-high-five rhetoric, there’s something of interest near the bottom"¦

The number of people signed up to the Development Fund standing order scheme has risen to 200. Many of you have pledged more than the £5 we asked for, which makes you no better than any of your 199 brothers and sisters, but it does mean that FC United will be £20,000 a year better off, which will account for 20% of this season’s target - sincere and heart-felt thanks to you all.

A lot of graft, time, money and good will go into organising the other events which will continue to take place whilst you hard earned cash filters into the fund month-on-month. We have graft and good in abundance will but there are easier and quicker ways for us to hit our target"¦ like sitting down with fellow reds and explaining the importance of raising the money.

You’ve already committed to the scheme so we don’t need to remind you that there is no long-term future in renting Gigg Lane from Bury. So, we are appealing for you, the 200 FC fans who have got round to filling in a form, to find just one more person each who’s willing to set up a standing order.

We all know someone who has been meaning to fill in a form but hasn’t got round to it yet. Give them a nudge, remind them how long it takes to get to Gigg Lane on a bus or how dear it is on the tram"¦ unless you and / or they live in Bury, in which case remind them of the thousands and thousands of pounds we pay in rent every season!

What’s in it for you, you might ask - well, your very own football ground with red seats, for a start. But in the short term and until we get a mix on, how about a free season ticket for 2008-2009, a signed FC United shirt or match-ball sponsorship?

Everyone who has submitted a standing order form by February 14th will go into a draw to be made at our home game versus Skelmersdale on the 16th .

- First prize - 2008-2009 Season Ticket
- Second Prize - match-ball sponsorship of the Curzon game on March 5th (includes signed match-ball)
- Third Prize - signed FC United Home or Away shirt

You can download forms here and send them to the office or fill one out and give them to volunteers at Gigg Lane on the 26th of January.

You can also contact your bank and set up a standing order via telephone banking. You’’ll need the following details and remember to use your own name as the payee reference so we know whose name to put in the hat"¦ which is actually a wooded drum with a crude little hatch in it where minor FC celebs stick their hand and pull out winning tickets:
