Swarbrick re-signs for Barrow

Winger Dave Swarbrick is set to re-sign for Blue Square North side Barrow in order to get some first team games and fitness under his belt but the door has been left firmly open for him to return to FC United.

The pacey midfielder-cum-striker originally came to the attentions of the Reds’ coaching staff when he scored a goal for Holker Old Boys during a 4-1 defeat at the hands of United at Altrincham’s Moss Lane in the February of our inaugural season. After the match, Swarbrick approached manager Karl Marginson, declared his desire to play for United and has been travelling down from Barrow for training and matches ever since.

Margy said: "Swabba is a great lad who has shown a tremendous amount of commitment to the club. He’s been unlucky with injuries over the past year and he’s decided it will be best for him to get his fitness back up closer to home."

Everyone at the club would like to wish Dave all the best and we hope to see him back in the red of FC United in the not too distant future.
