Club signs ex-United youth captain

The club are pleased to announce the signing of Josh Howard from Mossley. He has been signed in time to be in contention for this weekends game.

Phil Melville has joined Salford City on loan, to get some games under his belt.

Josh Howards profile from Mossley’s website:

Josh Howard graduated through the Manchester United junior ranks to captain the youth team and make 22 reserve team appearances before being released to join Stalybridge Celtic in December 2000.

In October 2001 Howard moved to Hyde United before joining Mossley in the summer of 2002.

A dislocated shoulder put him out of action in only the 2nd match of the season and when the shoulder went again in an FA Cup match at Hinckley last season he forced to undergo surgery meaning he missed a large part of last season.
In his only fully fit season 2003/04, Mossley’s last in the North West Counties League Howard excelled scoring 13 goals from midfield as Mossley finally won promotion back to the UniBond League.

Now with the injuries behind him much is expected of this highly talented playmaker.
