Margy's rallying cry ahead of FA Cup showdown

FC United’s travelling army of fans could make all the difference on Saturday according to manager Karl Marginson as he promised that his team would continue its attacking style of football even though, for once, the Reds are underdogs.

Margy said: "We’ll go for the win, we’ll obviously take a draw and a replay if it comes our way but it’s not in our nature to go defensive so we’ll do what we do best. The fans could prove crucial tomorrow, if we go a goal down or even if we go a goal up we’ll need their backing which I’m sure we’ll get. Let’s raise the roof."??

It’s likely to be an unchanged team from the one that beat Harrogate Railway Athletic 2-0 last Saturday as FC United look to upset the odds against UniBond Premier Side Fleetwood Town. With Stuart Rudd still suspended Simon Carden will continue deputising up front and Margy is confident that Carden can do the business.

He said: "Si’s been doing really well up front, he harasses defenders and never gives them a minute’s peace. He gives us a bit of flexibility too because he can lead the line or drop deep."??

As revealed in the local press this week, Josh Howard is also absent after exploratory knee surgery revealed his injury was more serious than first thought and he may be out until the New Year. However, promising youngster Chris Baguley has recovered from a slight knock and should be part of the five-strong substitutes’ bench.

In the event of a draw after 90 minutes the match will be a replayed on Wednesday 19th September at Gigg Lane.
