FC United of Manchester Youth team progressed through to the next round of the National League u19 Alliance League Cup competition with this 2-0 home First Round win against City of Liverpool Youth on the Broadhurst Park 3G on Friday afternoon.
After a goalless first half, the Young Reds opened the scoring on 64 minutes when TERENCE LUNT collected an Emanuel Fernandes cross from the left before advancing and placing his shot past the visitors' keeper from just inside the box.
On 88 minutes, FC United made sure of the result. A floated Jack Bennett free kick wasn't cleared properly, and fell invitingly for ARLO BULLER who first controlled the ball to create an opening before steering a low shot into the corner of the net.
FC United now await details of their Second Round opponents (tie to be played on of around Wednesday 20th October 2021).
