FC United of Manchester Academy 'A' team recorded their first win in the Friday development competition with this 5-1 home win against a Stockport County Academy XI on the Broadhurst Park 3G on Friday afternoon.,
The Young Reds opened the scoring on 18 minutes after Aaron Hughes had won a penalty. GEORGE KAMARA sending the Stockport 'keeper the wrong way from the 12 yard mark.
A curling shot by Aaron Hughes then hit the upright on 28 minutes, but FC United were unable to add to the half time scoreline.
A chipped goal by the visitors' No. 10 over home 'keeper Macca Bennett briefly brought Stockport back on level terms on 58 minutes, but FC United quickly regained the lead on the hour mark when the Stockport 'keeper inexplicably failed to clear an innocuous looking CALLUM MORRIS effort.
On 64 minutes, it was 3-1 when GEORGE KAMARA volleyed home a Renato Neves corner at the far post
Callum Morris then saw a fine effort tipped over the crossbar on 70 minutes before RENATO NEVES then got on the scoresheet when he headed home from a corner from the left on 76 minutes.
And finally, CALLUM MORRIS intercepted a wayward pass on 86 minutes to slot home the fifth (his second) and conclude the afternoon's scoring.
