FC United of Manchester Academy 'B' team's opening fixture in the Friday Development series of matches saw the Young Reds go down to a 1-6 home defeat against a Stockport County Academy XI on the Broadhurst Park 3G.
After conceding the opening goal to the visitors' No. 9 on just 5 minutes, the Young Reds drew level on 31 minutes when SAM OLUDOYI finished from close range courtesy of an assist from substitute Frankie Bolger, who had only been on the pitch for less than 15 seconds.
1-1 at half time, it was mostly one way traffic in the second half. HARRY MARTIN (o.g.) was unlucky to steer the ball past his own 'keeper within a minute of the restart, before a breakaway goal by Stockport's No. 9 made it 3-1 to the visitors on 55 minutes.
A trip inside the area by Alex Canning gave the same player the opportunity to complete his hat-trick from the penalty spot on 65 minutes, before two further goals from the visitors No. 12 and No. 6 on 76 and 88 minutes respectively, completed the afternoon's scoring.
